Prayer

Congregational Prayer Response (in Unison)
Who is in a position to condemn?  Only Christ, who died for us, who rose for us, who reigns at God's right hand and prays for us.  Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Responsive Reading Psalm 23

Leader:  The LORD is my shepherd.  He gives me everything I need.
People:  He lets me lie down in fields of green grass.

Leader:  He leads me beside the quiet waters.
People:  He gives me new strength.

Leader:  He guides me in the right paths for the honor of his name.
People:  Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid.

Leader:  You are with me.  Your shepherd's rod and staff comfort me.
People:  You prepare a feast for me right in front of my enemies.

Leader:  You pour oil on my head.  My cup runs over.
People:  I am sure that your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.

All:  And I will live in the house of the LORD forever.

The Master Weaver's Plan

My life is but a weaving
Between the Lord and me;
I may not choose the colors -
He know what they should be.

For He can view the pattern
Upon the upper side
While I can see it only
On this, the underside.

Sometimes He weaves is sorrow,
Which seems so strange to me;
But I will trust His judgement
And work faithfully.

'Tis He who fills the shuttle,
And He know what is best;
So I shall weave in earnest,
And leave to Him the rest.

Not 'til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needed
In the Weaver's skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern, He has planned.
