Opening Unison Prayer,(please stand) Lord Jesus, you are the light of the world. Thank you for your sacrifice and for the hope you bring. As we celebrate you as the light, we ask that your light would shine in our hearts and minds, illuminating our path and guiding us away from darkness and towards truth. Help us to reflect your light to others, so that they may see your goodness and be drawn to you, Amen!

Leader: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning God.
People: All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.
Leader: In him was life, and the life was the light of man.
People: The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Leader: And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
People: The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shown.
Leader: "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." And "I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness."
