Page 2158 Just A Closer Walk With Thee
(Unison Opening Prayer please stand) Creator of All, teach us to listen for your voice in our Spirit. The voice of love, forgiveness and kindness. We pray to recognize your guidance in scripture, in prayer, and our everyday moments. Grant us the wisdom to accept your teaching, even when in challenges our comfort. Alleluia Amen!
Opening Praise: Page 393 Spirit of The Living God
Responsive Reading:
Leader: During this season of Lent, we remember our salvation in an unearned gift, new life is a matter of faith, not of words.
People: We gather to lay down the burden of trying to earn our salvation.
Leader: Like Nicodemus, who net Jesus in the dark of night, we struggle to accept that new life is not just possible but given as a gift of grace.
People: We gather to bring out struggles into the light and embrace God's grace with open arms.
Leader: Like Paul writing in Romans, we remember God's promise of new life, has always rested on grace.
People: We gather to receive the promise of salvation by grace through faith.
Leader: Like many before us, we follow, question, and have grown in faith. We pray today, to prepare ourselves to be changed by His grace as we work out our salvation day by day.
All: We gather as people guided by the promise of a changed life, a promise fulfilled by Christ, whose path we follow. Amen!
