*PROCLAMATION AND RESPONSE/PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION*
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that, as the scriptures are read and your Word proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen!

Choir Anthem "Come Share the Lord"

GOSPEL LESSON John 4:4-26,39-42

SERMON "Who is Welcome at the Table"

*RESPONSE TO THE WORD
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.

JOYS AND CONCERNS/PASTORAL PRAYERS

INVITATION/SERVICE OF WORD AND TABLE
Christ our Lord invites to his table all who love him,
who earnestly repent of their sin
and seek to live in peace with one another.
Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

CONFESSION AND PARDON
Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart.  We have failed to be an obedient church.  We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, and we have not heard the cry of the needy.  Forgive us, we pray.  Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

Leader to people:
Hear the good news:
Christ died for us while we were yet dinners;
that proves God's love toward us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
People to leader:
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven!
Leader and people:
Glory to God,  Amen.

THE PEACE
Let us offer one another signs of reconciliation and love.

OFFERING/*DOXOLOGY
As forgiven and reconciled people, let us offer ourselves and our gifts to God.
THANKSGIVING AND COMMUNION/TAKING THE BREAD AND CUP

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts. (The pastor may lift hand and keep them raised)
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
It is right, and a good and joyful thing,
always and everywhere to give thanks ...
we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Congregational response:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Pastor
Holy are you, and blessed is you son Jesus Christ.
Your Spirit anointed him ...
in union with Christ's offering for us,
as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Congregational response:
Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

Pastor
Pour out you Holy Spirit on us gathered here,
and on these gifts of bread and wine.
...
all honor and glory are yours, almighty Father,
now and forever.

Congregational response:
Amen.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
And now, with the confidence of children of God, Let us pray:

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trail,
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and forever.  Amen.

BREAKING THE BREAD
GIVING THE BREAD AND CUP

The body of Christ, given for you.  Amen.
The blood of Christ, given for you.  Amen.

Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery
in which you have given yourself to us.
Grant that we may go into the world
in the strength of your Spirit,
to give ourselves for others,
in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
