Happy Veterans Day

It’s been an interesting morning here! To start things off, over a foot of snow fell overnight. That’s on top of the 5 inches we got yesterday.

My wife had a doctor’s appointment this morning, so I was up at 6 to plow the driveway. As with every morning, I have a few critters to feed. This includes our chickens. Unfortunately, the canopy that I had over the pen had partially collapsed. Ok, I’ll have to deal with that at some point today. Afterall, the chickens could still get out of their coop and get to their food and water. So off I go to get ready to plow.

I got our driveway done without any surprises. I went into the house to have a cup of coffee and check on my wife. Turns out she’s not feeling great and is concerned about the roads. She’s wise that way. She found out they cancelled school here. So, we talked about cancelling her appointment, which she did. In the meantime, the canopy over the chicken pen finished it’s descent to the ground. I wound up getting a knife and saws-all. I cut the canopy to allow the snow to find the ground and got busy cutting the frame up enough to get it out of the pen. I had a couple planks and a tarp which I "Randy-rigged" for a cover. Ok, good enough for now.

Sidewalk Project

Before

This is the end of the sidewalk. I didn't take a photo before I started in on the project. This is what I was able to come up with for a "Before" photo.

The Hole

I had to remove all the old concrete and dig this all out for the drains and the new frame. It's about 12 inches deep end to end but deeper for the drain pipe.
