Day 6 of Advent
Saturday 12/6
𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏𝟒:𝟏𝟓 𝐍𝐋𝐓
“𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞, 𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬.”
What a simple but powerful scripture. But that does not mean that it is easy to accomplish. But we are back to what I said in last week’s message. That is that the love that God wants from us is the verb form of love. The simplest way to work towards this action form of love is to follow the Golden Rule
𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟕:𝟏𝟐 𝐒𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐬.
This is how we learn to love others as ourselves. And the we are loving God in action by loving others.
