Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus. At the same time, we anticipate Jesusโs return. But for a moment let us consider Jesusโs action at the start of his last meal on earth. He took the opportunity to wash his disciplesโ feet. What an unbelievable act of humility. Here is the son of God performing the act of a servant. This act was so low that it was normally assigned to a non-Jewish servant.
We all know that acts speak louder than words. In this action Jesus calls us to do as he did. To humble ourselves before others becoming servant first. If Jesus was willing to take the position of humble servant, then should we not be willing to do likewise.
