I love this statement that the truth will set you free, but do we really want the freedom that Jesus is talking about? When we think of freedom in the modern world we think in terms of us getting our own way. But when we choose to follow Christโs teachings we are called to be a servant first. This means I am to put the needs of others ahead of my own. This concept is completely contrary to our society's concept of freedom.
The freedom that we are searching for here is a freedom from fear of loneliness, want, regret, and most of all not being loved. When we accept Godโs love for us and choose to live in Christโs image, we have absolute faith in God and His plan for us. And if we truly believe in a loving God that has promised all to us and only then can we live in the freedom that God has promised.
