Day 20 of Advent
Saturday 12/20
Acts 20:21
21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.
I love this scripture because it reminds us that Jesus came to save all of humanity. Yes, Jesus was a Jew, but he died for the sins of the world. But just like all free gifts, they do us no good if we do not accept them. That acceptance of God’s grace through Jesus Christ starts with our understanding that we need to repent. Only when we repent and are humble before God are we ready to start the transformation into the person God created us to be.
That transformation is not a straight line, always improving but more a process of two steps forward and one step back. But God knows this and is patient as we strive to become more holy.
