Romans 12:2 NLT
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
As we work towards what John Wesley called Personal Holliness our behavior will become more Christ like. This must start with the way that we think. You must allow God’s Spirit to guide your thoughts which will then correct your attitudes towards others.
All people were created in the image of God and as God said when he finished each creation “and it is good”. We must see this in ourselves and then we will be able to see it in others. Remember the line we use in communion liturgy “God loved us while we were yet sinners, that proves God love towards us”. It is when we come to this realization, that God loves us, then we are ready to work towards sanctification.
