Day 15 of Advent
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝟐𝟖:𝟏𝟑
𝐖𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐛𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐲.
The first step to repentance is to admit that you were wrong. And all too often in admitting our sin we either try to justify our action or diminish the magnitude of the sin. Each of these actions prevents us from true repentance.
To grow as a Christian just as in any other area we must first recognize and be honest in our shortcomings. And in the process truly accept our failings as our own. With this then we will be led by the Spirit of God towards the more perfect life that we are stiving for. And with this action comes the peace of knowing the grace that God has promised us all.
