𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝟐:𝟏𝟒 – 𝟏𝟕

𝟏𝟒 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭, 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐢𝐟 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬? 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦? 𝟏𝟓 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝. 𝟏𝟔 𝐈𝐟 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, “𝐆𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞; 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐞𝐝,” 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭? 𝟏𝟕 𝐈𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲, 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐛𝐲 𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟, 𝐢𝐟 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝.

In last week’s message, I talked about the word used for love as a verb. That the love we have for God is to be an action. This is also true when it comes to our neighbors. Just as the scripture from Matthew yesterday we need to see the others and help in whatever way possible.

If a person’s basic needs are not being met, then there is no capacity for anything beyond. And too often we only recognize the physical. Many in today’s world seem to be fine on the outside but are broken in their soul. We cannot know this when we interact with them. Because of this let our interaction with others always be from a place of love and patience. Trying to with the best of our ability to be the good in someone else’s day.
