2 Chronicles 15:7

But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.

Perseverance Within God's Plan

It is tempting to give up when life does not unfold as we expect. We often imagine ourselves as the hero in our own stories, believing that we will ultimately achieve victory. However, each of us plays a unique role within God's greater plan, and this realization can sometimes humble our sense of self-importance. Still, it is important to remember that the true depth and richness of any story emerge from the contributions of every character involved.

At times, we may question our significance and wonder if our actions truly matter. This is a challenge many face, myself included. Despite these doubts, I hold the conviction that each person has a purpose in God's design. The seeds we plant—through our kindness and efforts—are uniquely ours to sow. Although we may never witness these seeds grow, mature, or bear fruit, we must trust that our acts of compassion will be meaningful to someone, somewhere, in the future. As Jim Valvano famously said, “Don’t give up, don’t ever give up.” This sentiment should guide us as we strive to fulfill God's will, reminding us to persist and remain faithful.
